Participating Choirs 2019

The Choral Festival brings together many choirs from the Sunshine Coast Region. 

Each choir performs their own set of two or three songs,
and we conclude with a massed choir spectacular!



The Caloundra Chorale and Theatre Company is a Sunshine Coast Performance Group producing all aspects of live theatre; musicals, drama, comedy, youth theatre, concerts and choral works.
Musical Director: Kim Kirkman

 Cool Harmonies are based in Coolum. They have a diverse repertoire ranging from African rhythms to pop classics, and sing a variety of styles from gospel to swing.

  Global Harmonies Community Choir
with Pomona Community Choir

Global Harmonies is an unauditioned choir of about 22 members. The choir meets in Bli Bli to share heart, fun, friendship, and song, encouraging all to sing in a supportive environment. The choir sings a mixture of world, gospel and traditional songs.

Hot Ginger Chorus

Hot Ginger is a women's a cappella chorus singing four-part harmony in the barbershop style.With around 40 members from all walks of life, Hot Ginger has a diverse repertoire including ballads, swing and jazz, pop music, show tunes and Australiana.

 INsingC is an empowering community choir of music loving souls who sing an eclectic contemporary repertoire of gospel, pop, blues, soul and rock. They have an unorthodox approach where they learn to build their individual voices and sing in spontaneous and free harmony

 Inspiration Choir &

Caloundra Community Choir

 These choirs, from Maleny and Caloundra, 
are  unauditioned daytime choirs 
where members can come and go as they please.
It sings mainly uplifting songs from many musical styles. 
Many members, who thought they couldn't  sing, have found their voices!

Joy of Singing
& Mouth Orchestra


The Joy of Singing Choir is for shower singers
and experienced singers alike. 
Members have developed their skills whilst exploring
the exciting sounds of World Music a cappella. 
Mouth Orchestra is a dynamic and polished a cappella ensemble singing world music and originals in 4 to 9 part  harmonies.

 New World Rhythm

Based in Maroochydore, New World Rhythm love to entertain with a variety of music styles from the rhythmic sounds of world music including African, Celtic, Greek and Russian, to the sweet traditional tones of gospel and folk music.

The Sunshine Statesmen Barbershop Chorus is based in Buderim. The chorus performs a wide variety of songs from traditional classics to well-known modern tunes, all in four part a cappella harmony style. Being an all-male chorus, they are well known for their mellow rich tone.

 Sweet Chilli

Based in Maleny, Sweet Chilli are an all-female choir. We celebrate women, and sing to honour indigenous peoples, and about peace, unity, mothers, children.

Tapestry is a Maleny-based a cappella auditioned chamber choir. We started for the Millennium “Voices and Visions” celebrations, and enjoyed it so much we wanted to keep singing together.  A few of our current members are foundation members. Our members include people from a variety of backgrounds, with varied levels of musical education.
